Danelle Morrow

Stage Manager & Technical Director

Danelle Morrow is working on a BFA Theatre Design and Technology at Baylor University. She hails from Dallas Texas and plans to reside and work there post- graduation. She has a concentration in Stage Managements and Technical Direction but loves to branch out and to other facets of design when the opportunity presents itself. Danelle loves the collaborative nature of theatre. She sees the value in and fun in the facilitation of an artistic vision. Those who work on the more analytical side of theatre hold just as much importance in helping an artistic vision come to fruition. Wading through the weeds of the production, facing obstacles head on and engaging with other collaborators is exactly where Danelle thrives and wants to be.

Selected Work

Three Sisters

I was tasked with overseeing 14 actors, 2 swings, 2 production assistants, 6 scenic crew members and 1 assistant stage manager. This show had large scenic changes, on stage food and drinks, quick changes, wig changes and intimacy choreography. The diverse number of moving parts built my facilitation and communication skills from rehearsal to tech to performances. The calling for the show was also multilayered. There were lighting, sound, projection, scenic pieces, and actor cues that were called through the deration of the show. Three Sisters was a beautifully produced show that challenged me.

The Comedy of Errors

I was tasked with overseeing 15 carpenters and 1 paint charge. This show had a donut style turntable, dance silks, a dance pole, balconies, and tiered stairs. The series of different elements offered unique construction and budgeting problem solving. The show required communication between the designer, choreographer, director to ensure the safety of the actors throughout rehearsals and performances.

Once

This show offered a range of dynamic problem-solving opportunities. As Stage Manager, I oversaw a cast of 16 actors, 1 production assistant and 1 assistant stage manager. The actors collectively played over 40 instruments live on stage. Managing instrument tracking, instrument repair and proper warm ups/tuning timing was unique to this process. There was also an added element of the cast playing the preshow music live that created interesting timing and calling challenges.
